James holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Management (2006) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany and Zoology (1986), specializing in Aquatic and Terrestrial Ecology, both from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He has a broad professional background, having worked with organizations such as the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), African Conservation Center (ACC), Pact Kenya (NGO), and Habitat Planners, among others.

James brings extensive expertise in natural resource management, nature-based enterprise development, ecosystem service valuation, wildlife conservation planning, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation. Additionally, he has contributed to biodiversity projects with the IGAD/EU in the Horn of Africa, based in their Djibouti office.
